In this interview, Anurag Kashyap and Bijoy Nambiar talk about their film Shaitan, and explain why it’s a passion project for them. Kashyap, who came on board to produce this film when Nambiar’s original producers pulled out, insists it’s a better film than his own debut Paanch.

  2. Hi Anurag, I really love all your films. The way you tell stories is almost no one’s business in India, except a few like Vishal Bhdwaj. Please keep making these kind of stuff, which is increasingly giving you fans who really value them.

  5. i think anurag kashyap is one of the most sensible directors we have in our hindi films today, apart from being a great writer/director with works like Black Friday and gulal , he has proved to be a great producer by supporting a film like udaan .A producer who does not interfere in the creative lines of the product , hats off to him and to people like srikant i would just like to say ‘enjoy READY’ , you’ll be able to relate to it better…..and i request the audience to watch ‘SHAITAN’ in theatre’s as every single ticket makes a difference to support such cinema which is different from the usual stuff we have……:):)

  10. I honestly believe that Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banarjee, Vishal Da, Mr.Benegal are some of the directors because of who people like me still believe in the essence of hindi cinema. People like them have given a new meaning to commercial cinema and are a new take on parallel cinema! These directors have given indian cinema its true meaning and have conveyed the power it holds. Directors like Karan Johar and Farah Khan know how to spend, actually rather waste money and make something that I am ashamed to even call cinema, but its you guys who have been gifted to the industry at the right time. I believe in all your movies, and in the future of bollywood for its you who hold the reign now. Basically, thanks a lot for being there to contribute.

P.S. I saw “Paanch”, I think its the best movie i have ever ever seen, and my friends saw The girl in the yellow boots at your house, though they refuse to open the plot to me, I bet its something that is worth waiting for. Just dont make the wait to long!

  11. Saw it some hours back… this is a whole new level of direction / taste in bollywood movies .. havent seen anyone with the same style yet ” its now, gritty, cool, edgy and raw ( not raw raw.. but it gets the gut right.. without the too much gore)”….and hey an original original style !!!!!
Honestly i was thinking in my head while watching the move ” i like this storytelling and imaging even more than the danny boyle millionaire movie.. its more edgy and “hindi” ” .
The cinematography…rather the “action in the cinematography” is super COOL… noone in bollywood has got this flavour yet/ right.. esp… the scene in the brothel where the other girl is killed and the shootout happens…amazingly put together.. ” totally non filmi” ” non predictable”…and fresh..
lovvvveeedddd the storytelling. if rang de basanti was a new age “teen”… this movie is a new age savvy 30 yr old..
total paisa wasool and proud of the level bolly is scaling.. its like ” now we`re talking dude”.
