Coming Soon on CNN-IBN, a new season of The Bollywood Roundtables with Rajeev Masand. For our first edition, we assembled four actresses who delivered the best performances in 2013: Deepika Padukone (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani/Ram Leela), Vidya Balan (Ghanchakkar), Kangana Ranaut (Krrish 3), and Nimrat Kaur (The Lunchbox) to share tales from their filmmaking journey. Stay tuned.

  1. Where’s Sonakshi Sinha, she gave the best performance of this year through Lootera. I like Nimrat but Vidya herself praised Sonakshi for Lootera and sorry Kangana’s best performance was years ago. Still like her though and can’t wait for Queen to come out, but Krrish 3 is not good since it’s just a commercial superhero film where the actor gets all the credit. Love to see Sonakshi too and Vidya herself wouldn’t call her performance in Ghanchakkar terrific as it’s more of a light humorous film and a laid back role. This year’s best performance goes to Sonakshi considering she’s a bad actress and stuck to her masala entertainer roles, but the mundane statement given by every Bollywood actress “My role is different” is apt for Sonakshi. She has done something “different”. Even Deepika’s 4 100 crore plus films and the fact those films are described as “versatile” is put to shame by that one film Sonakshi did to oust her 2 years of bad acting.
